Name: Jo Jo
Breed: Pug / Pug
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Black and Black, Male
Description: Jo Jo was returned to MPR when the family who had adopted him was unable to provide the medical care he required. He is 5 years old and has been vaccinated for Distemper, Rabies, Corona, Bordetella, Heartworm and Fecal tested. He also has had his teeth cleaned, is microchipped and underwent surgery to remove Bladder stones. The stones were sent out for analysis to determine his future treatment. He is feed a prescription diet available from the Veterinarian’s office. He is wonderful with children and loves to give them a face wash. He is housebroken, crate trained and relishes his walks and has walked in excess of a 2 miles. He gets along with the other Pugs in the foster home but is fed separately. He wants to be with you at all times. He will lie on the floor at your feet. He loves lots of attention as he love to play tug-a-war. He has some food aggressiveness. He is fed in his crate to avoid any issues. His urine is periodically tested to be sure there are no reoccurrences of the stones. Update April 6: Jo Jo was seen by the MPR vet and his urine was tested and he was X-rayed. He remains stone free. His X-ray did reveal an abnormality in his upper spinal area. At this time there was no need to have any procedures done. Name: Billy
Breed: Pug / Pug
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Tan and Black, Male
Description: Ralphy and his brother Billy were adopted from MPR in December 2004. Their owner contacted MPR recently stating they did not have sufficient time to spend with them as they had an addition to their family. Both Ralphy and Billy are blind and have been since they were about 6 weeks old when tragically the husband of the breeder attempted to open their eyes prematurely. Consequently that action damaged their sight. They do very well once they have learned the layout of their surroundings. They are crate trained and have been neutered, micro-chipped, and are up to date on all vaccines, heartworm testing and fecal testing. They are co-dependent on each other and need to be adopted together. They are 5 ½ years old and were trained to use a doggy door. They do have accidents and the previous owner had them wear a belly band to prevent marking. They are good with children, other dogs and very affectionate. If you are interested in adopting them or any of the Pugs currently residing with Michigan Pug Rescue, please go to our web site, michiganpugrescue.com and go to the Adoption info section where you will find the necessary forms to download to begin the adoption process.

Name: Marley
Breed: Pug / Pug
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Tan and Black, Male
Description: MPR was contacted by Animal Control about me. I was a stray who was not claimed. The vet from Animal Control said I needed to have my eye removed and I had not been neutered. They gave me vaccinations for Rabies and Distemper. The MPR vets examined me did blood tests and vaccinated me for Corona and Bordetella, tested me for Heartworm and did a fecal test. I have been micro-chipped and I am presently being treated for the ulcer on my left eye and the vets do not feel the eye needs to be removed.. I will be neutered once my eye issue has been resolved. It has been estimated that I am approximately 2 years old, I am very playful, good with other dogs, cats and children, crate trained and do my best not to mess in the house.. I just would like to go to a home where I will be loved and treated like a member of the family. Name: Chewy
Breed: Pug / Pug
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Tan and Black, Male
Description: I do not know why I got my name because I am not a dog who chews so please do not make any presumptions from the name. I am 4 ½ years old and was relinquished to MPR because my family did not want to care for me. I have been to the MPR vet where they said I have whipworms, and a bi-lateral ear infection. Because the information provided by my previous family stated that I had only been to a vet once when I was a puppy, I am starting all of my vaccines as though I was a puppy. I have received my first Distemper, Corona, Bordetella, a Rabies, Heartworm check, fecal check, microchipped and I underwent that dastardly neuter procedure. I am on medications for the Whipworms and the ear infection. I am good with children and other animals, housebroken and very loving. If you are interested in adopting me or any of the Pugs currently residing with Michigan Pug Rescue, please go to our web site, michiganpugrescue.com and go to the Adoption info section where you will find the necessary forms to download to begin the adoption process.
