Name: Stewart
Breed: Weimaraner / Weimaraner
Age: Mature
Color/Gender: Gray and Gray, Male
Description: Stewart has been in his new foster home for two months and is really being given a chance to come completely into his own personality. He is an absolutely wonderful Weimaraner for the right owner. He is 9 years old, which makes him ideal for an experienced dog owner who wants the “Weim personality” without the Weim high-energy needs. He has daily walks of 30-60 minutes that are more than enough to keep him in a peaceful/calm mindset. He is very strong and healthy, so we feel that he would enjoy even more exercise than what the walks provide. Stewart came to us slightly overweight and flabby, but is now a lean mean machine. Everyone who meets him is amazed by his size, distinct beauty and giant paws. Fortunately, he is very respectful and never jumps! Stewart LOVES to hunt when off leash, so don’t be surprised if he brings back a present for you. While he has made numerous friends, both human and canine, he can be very uncomfortable around people and pets who exhibit particularly high-energy or are tentative and does need to be monitored when initially introduced. You can tell very quickly who he's quick to embrace and who will take time. Forever homes with children or cats are not good options. Stewart is an incredible happy, kind, easy-going, easily satisfied, healthy, beautiful Weim. He LOVES car rides – he prefers to be on the road with you all day versus at home, but if he is left at home, he won’t hold it against you and can be trusted with full rein of the house. If you are looking for a dog to be a close companion without the super-duper high octane energy of a younger Weim, Stewart will exceed your expectations!! Sincerely, STEWART

Name: Carly
Breed: Weimaraner / Weimaraner
Age: Mature
Color/Gender: Gray and Other, Female
Description: Come, have a seat. I'd like to join you, but my hind end is still a bit sore. I'm Carly. I am a senior girl, originally from Arkansas. I moved up here with my owner. I heard people talking that he was going to a hospital and he wasn't coming back. I was given to his friend, but he traveled a lot and he decided it would be best to place me in a shelter. I was not happy there, I was very upset, afraid, and something happen to me. I got bit! It hurt. When Great Lakes came to get me they said my entire hind end was infected, along with my tail. They had it flushed out and chunks of bacteria flushed out. I was asleep during this process, so I didn't feel anything. Also I was covered in urine, I am house trained, but the shelter didn't let me out to potty. To many dogs were in the shelter. I'm told I'm taking medicine too. And I have this nagging kennel cough, which should clear up. It is just like a cold or cough a human would get. My foster mom says I'm a very friendly girl, I haven't had a single accident in her house. I am starting to feel much better and I am healing nicely. I would enjoy living in a quiet home, one that isn't very active or busy. Visit my blog soon to check on my progress. Gentle Senior Kiss, Carly

Name: Satin
Breed: Weimaraner / Weimaraner
Age: Mature
Color/Gender: Gray and Other, Female
Description: Hi there, my name is Satin. I am a 5 year old female weim. I've come to GLWR because my former family could no longer take care of me. I am sooo sweet, kind and gentle. The only thing I need is to be loved. I will roll over for a tummy rub as soon as you walk by me. If that doesn't work, then I'll come to you and rest my head on your lap. I am up to date on my vaccinations and spayed. I have no known health problems, but I am overweight. My foster mom says we're having a competition to see who can lose weight faster. So she takes me out walking alot! I love going for those walks and am good on a leash. I may pull a little but listen well when corrected. Don't let my weight fool you, I'm not food driven and don't beg or counter surf, I just over indulged a little in the past. I am very friendly to everyone I meet and enjoy kids. As for cats, I have chased one up a tree and lifted a bed on my back trying to get to one under the bed. Probably best if I don't live with them. I don't need to be crated, I behave very well when left alone. I have very good manners and don't get into things I shouldn't - what can I say I'm sooo good! I love easily and am so enjoyable to be with. So, now that you know who I am, please call GLWR and tell me who YOU are!! Satin

Name: Milo
Breed: Weimaraner / Weimaraner
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Gray and Other, Male
Description: Milo is a 3-year-old silver male, a truly handsome fella who needs a home with 2-3 other dogs who love to run and play. He has a higher than average intellect and energy level and will need a home with very experienced owners that understand how to provide structure and parameters for him. He needs a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. He knows many commands, is housebroken, crate trained and good with kids over 10 years old. His strong prey drive requires no cats in his new home. When leash walking, Milo shows some fear-based stress when approached by older men or small dogs. He can also be possessive of his toys and food bowl around other dogs, but has been fine with humans. Patience, time and a good trainer will help Milo overcome these issues. If you can give Milo the structure and stimulation he needs, you will be rewarded with a wonderful companion.

Name: Romeo
Breed: Weimaraner / Weimaraner
Age: Adult
Color/Gender: Gray and Other, Male
Description: I'm a bit camera-shy, so I must apologize for my photos. My foster mom said she'd try again to capture my "good side", whatever that is! My name is Romeo and I'm a 2-year-old silver grey boy who's built to move. I'm told I'm quite athletic with a beautiful gait and I know I love to run and play in the yard carrying toys and sticks wherever I go. My foster mom says I'm a pleasant, happy-go-lucky boy who needs some training. I like to learn and am willing to try this training thing if you are. I'm crate trained and housebroken. I ride well in the car and love to please. I like people and other dogs, but not cats. Hey, nobody's perfect! Hope to meet you soon, Romeo
