Description: E-Mail inquiries ONLY--No phone calls please Gilbert is a handsome male Yellow Nape Amazon who is 19 year old. We had a full comprehensive avian blood panel done on him & it came back fine. He did have a little complication when he was surgically sexed,(rare complication) he did not clot properly & had to have stitches, and Vit K shots. Nothing came up on the blood panel, but for his safety in the future all nail & wing trimming will need to be done by a licensed avian vet. He needs to be at a clinic who specializes in birds to make sure if this happens again he can be treated right away, he did bleed easily for a routine nail trimming, but not seriously. We are just looking out for what is best for this bird & many larger birds nail trimming is easier when done by a vet. We were told he can talk, but have only heard a things when he sees someone he likes. He has stepped up on to his foster mom's arm & has been held by several others. He is fostered in a home with dogs & other birds, but shows no interest in them. He likes to listen to the radio. Gilbert adoption fee is $475.00 without his cage & $600.00 with his cage which is large & has a rack underneath & the top opens & a perch can be placed up there. You must live within an 80 miles radius of Aurora to adopt Gilbert, we do not ship birds & he does not fly. Description: 4-6-09) We have 3 female white face peach-faced (mutations) Lovebirds for adoption Bubbles, Minnie & Tidbit. They are approx 7 months and one (Minnie)is 2 years old. They have their wings clipped & they did not bite during that procedure. They will need work to be handable tame birds, but we believe they can be in time, with lots of patience. Description: Spirit & Spike are two hansdsome male Pied Cockatiels that are cage mates. They will only be adopted together, they are not related but they have become friends. Spike is approx 8-10 years old & we estimate Spirit to be 4-5 years old. Spirit will step up on to your finger, and sit on your shoulder, been held my her foster mom's nieces. They deserve a forever home. Cockatiels can live to be in to their high teens. Spike needs someone with a lot of patience & love to give so he can prosper & become all he can be. Spike came in to us very thin & the vet says he is 8-10 years old. We think he might have been not eating well . He is doing great having a cage friend and has gained weight. He is not one who likes to be handled,but were told he was handled in the past. Patience given & he might be ok with being held again. We got him a cage mate to see if it would help & he is happier having Spirit with him. We will only adopt them together , the adoption fee for both is $45 (no cage).
