Description:
When Meow's former owners found out they both are dying of cancer, they knew they would no longer be able to provide Meow a stable loving home while being treated for cancer. Devastated, they contacted Fur Angels and explained their plight. They loved Meow very much and was fearful that she may end up at a shelter where she'd end up being put to sleep due to her age, or lack of space shelters are facing. Fur Angels reassured them that Meow would be in a safe loving foster home until she is able to find her new forever home. After Meow was placed with Fur Angels, weekly phone calls would be made by her previous owners to check in on Meow. This has shown how much they have loved Meow and how devastated they were to give her up. Sadly, one day, the phone calls stopped coming. We're still glad we were able to save Meow, and keep her in a loving foster home while we're working on a forever home Meow so deserves. Why? Because Meow is a beautiful sweet long haired female cat. She likes to do her own thing, and doesn't require much attention. When she wants attention, she will make sure to make it known. After Meow was timid at first in her new enviornment, she has quickly warmed up to her foster home. She is being fostered with few other cats. She has shown that while she can get along with cats, she's very aloof with other cats. She would be ideal in a home with another mellow aloof cat, or in a home with older people. Help us keep our promise to her previous owners that we will find her new forever home. She has all of her vaccinations and has no health problems. She is also declawed. She doesn't care for dogs, but can stand her ground with dogs. Adoption fee is $75. Interested? Please contact me at 630 518 2542 or amberkay7895@aol.com

Description:
Peyton is a very lucky cat. He was found by a family during the floods that ravaged Lake and Porter Counties in the summer of 2008. They cleaned him up and learned what a friendly, loving cat he is. Then their landlord learned he was there and they had to make a choice, him or their apartment. They contacted us in tears at having to give him up. They had become so attached in the short time they had him. They were saving to get him vetted and trying to get another place so they could keep him, but the time to do it just wasn't there. After having him in my home, I can see why. He is one of the most social and outgoing cats I have met. He didn't care that he had no clue where he was and that there were strange people and animals in the new place. After getting a clean bill of health, he was allowed to intermingle with his new friends. He got along great with the other cats. The dogs, eh not so much but he has made great progress. He stood up for himself from the get go and didn't let anyone push him around. Once he had free run of the house, we noticed that he walked a little funny. We also noticed that he sat on his right knee opposed to sitting on the foot. We had him checked out to learn that his hip had been broken. The head of his femur and the hip socket portion of his pelvis were both shattered on his right side. It appears he had been hit, possibly by a car, when he was trying to survive the flooding. It was an old injury and is not causing him too much trouble. The muscles themselves are holding the joint in place. He can still get around and do all the things that any other cat can do. He just only uses his left left back leg when jumping up or down. It is an older injury and does not cause him any pain unless greatly manipulated. He truly deserves a loving home after fighting for his own life so young. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and is negative on feline diseases. Description:
This is what the foster mother has to say about her: Lydia has had a really rough go of it. Her life here began in a cat carrier left outside the door of Petco. All we had of her history was a note left on the carrier, ÂStray friendly cat found on side of road. Very thin. Needs food water and loving homeÂ. Very thin is not the way I would have described her. She was literally skin and fur stretched over bones. She was taken to the vet first thing Monday morning. She was tested for worms, Feline Leukemia, and FIV (Feline Aids) and came up negative for everything. She was only 4 1/2 pounds and that was after 3 days of eating good food. This was not a case of a feral or outside cat that was found somewhere. This was a result of starvation. We are guessing that her owner was no longer able to keep their home/apt any longer. They locked the door and walked away thinking that someone would come along and find her. While this did happen, it very well could have gone a different direction. She also may not have lasted much longer as she was already down to almost nothing. She also will not defend herself at all. We were not able to do any vaccinations at that time as she was too thin. She has a very striking face and will be a beautiful girl once she is at a healthy weight. SheÂs very friendly with people, but is really not having it with other animals. She also hasnÂt adjusted to being in a new home. She lets me know that she's not happy here yet by walking around and crying. It breaks my heart as with many of my fosters because thereÂs not really a way to help them with that transition. They canÂt tell me what they need, just that they are not happy. She really doesnÂt want any of her housemates to get to close to her, especially the cats. She will allow the dogs to get closer, but not too close. SheÂs still trying to settle in and get comfy. She has so much to offer, but I donÂt think she realizes it. She needs a home where she will be embraced and can learn that she will never go hungry or have to live through that again. This has been an experience she wonÂt be able to put behind her for some time. Her adoption fee is $100.00 If you're interested in adopting her, please go to www.furangelsas.org and fill out our online application.

Description:
Howdy, my name is Tobey. I am a 3 years old young man looking for a forever home. I am coming from a broken home (divorce) where there were 2 dogs and 2 other cats. Well the dogs won they are now with each human parent, where we cats, had to find new homes. I am a lover boy. I will rub my body all over you asking to be rubbed back. I donÂt mind being brushed or combed as long as you do not do it too hard. I will sleep with you if donÂt mind me taking up just a corner of your bed. I would prefer a home with older children. I would say 10 years and older would be just fine. I had a bad experience with younger children being mean to me so I will hide if they are around. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations. Wont you be my puuurrrr-fect forever home? Please contact my foster mom, Kim, at (630) 584-8555 to learn more about me! You also can go to www.furangelsas.org and fill out the online application available.
