The City of Sachse's Animal Services and Shelter operates as a division of the Sachse Police Department. The Animal Shelter is staffed by a full-time Animal Control Officer and a full-time Animal Control Supervisor. An Animal Control Officer responds to animal calls when available. When an Animal Control Officer is not on duty, patrol officers respond to emergency animal calls. However, officers will not impound or release dogs.
