Alley Cat Rescue, Inc. Fostering: You can give a cat a second chance at life by helping ACR foster a cat or kitten. We have to turn down many abandoned cats, or cats relinquished by their caretakers for whatever reason, because we do not have the homes to keep them in until they can be placed in a new home through our adoption program at PETsMART. ACR does not have a shelter. Please call 301-699-3946 or e-mail us for more information. Service Information for Cats Adoption: The adoption fee is $135 and includes the spay or neuter of the animal, all shots, blood work, and a veterinary examination. Please see our cats at PETsMART Adoption Center at 12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring MD 20904, e-mail us or call 301-277-5595. Accepts Stray Animals: We actively rescue stray cats and kittens from the streets and find them good homes. We take in unwanted cats and give them a second chance, when otherwise their owners might drop them off at an overcrowded shelter or abandon them. All cats we rescue are fully vetted: tested for FeLV and FIV and given shots, de-wormed, and treated for fleas. They are all spayed or neutered prior to adoption, including kittens. Please e-mail us or call 301-277-5595. Pet Education: ACR promotes compassion and humane care for cats by assisting groups and individuals to help rescue and place cats, assisting cat caretakers with cat behavioral problems so that cats remain in their homes instead of being relinquished, and helping to promote a better understanding of feline diseases such as feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. Feral Cat Services: We provide educational materials and offer a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program for feral cat colonies. For more information, please visit our Web site. |
