Every SEVHS adoptee is welcome to participate in the classes.
Adopting a new dog is a very rewarding experience, but it can be stressful & challenging to new owners and pets since not all adopted dogs have basic obedience.
To help new pet owners with this adjustment period, volunteers from our Board of Directors hold classes every Saturday morning at 9:00 am to offer obedience training and tips to new owners.
The classes are divided into beginner and advance.
Everyone loves watching these dogs getting a second chance!
A HUGE thanks to Vicky, Barbara and Janet for donating their time to do these classes! Lost and Found Pet Services: If you have lost or found a pet, the most important thing you can do is to bring your information to the Humane Society so we can properly assist you with the next steps. This will allow us to alert the proper parties and ensure the animals involved have a happy reunion with their families.
You can also take advantage of the following options in the case your pet is lost:
Call or visit your local Humane Society right away and leave a lost report with the shelter.
The Southeast Volusia Humane Society receives calls about found pets everyday. We may have information about your lost pet, so call or come in person.
Notify the public as soon as possible.
If your pet cannot be found at a shelter, take the initiative and post notices, handout flyers, and place ads in local newspapers.
Call your pets veterinarian and let them know your animal is lost.
Many times, individuals that find an injured dog or cat will take it to a veterinarian.
