  • Sarah has come home!

After 5 days, Sarah came home at 2:00 am Saturday morning.  She is thin and has quite a bit of pine sap on her coat, but is otherwise clean and healthy.  She ate a little food and drank, then fell fast asleep by the fireplace after kissing us hello.  Thank each of you for your prayers, hopeful thoughts and support.  Now it’s time for chips and an electronic containment fence.  Once again, we thank each of you!!

  • Lucky

Lucky disappeared that afternoon.  We had workers coming in and out of our gate.  Some nieces and nephews had switched his licensed collar for another they found in our treasure chest the day before.  We looked frantically that night and hardly slept.  The next morning we hiked the desert adjacent to our lot, scouring the canyons and fearing that we’d see buzzards over a coyote kill.  Also, we’ve seen a mountain lion in the wash below us and that was another great fear.  We were hysterically happy when the lady from the next street over called and said that her [continue reading »]

  • There's nothing better than...

an ID tag on the collar!  Without the ID tag, I would have had to wait until morning with screaming neighbors to see if the dogs were microchipped, if the neighbors could wait that long.  Thankfully, there was ID on one of the dogs (of the four) that were roaming around our neighborhood, and thankfully, these dogs were not abandoned.  Oh, and thank you to the anonymous Matt that stopped to help me wrangle those four sweet, but very large, dogs!  I could not have done it alone.

Thank you, Pets911, for having this service available to people that understand that [continue reading »]

  • Happy Owner Gets Dear Pet Back

I was walking my dog in a nearby park Saturday night after dark.  A very friendly and young adult lab came up to us and greeted us.  He had no collar, no identification and no other people anywhere around.  Given the cold winter night and streets with nearby, I was concerned for his safety so I brought him home.  I gave him food and water and a warm place to sleep.  Sunday morning, I posted the ‘found dog’ on the pets911 site and the humane society’s site.  Within one hour of my posting, the owner called!  He explained that his [continue reading »]

  • YAH for Microchipping!

Today we found 2 small breed dogs roaming our neighborhood.  We brought them into our home and after a couple hours of playing with them, we opened the garage door and they bolted off.  I wished them safety as they traveled back home.  About an hour later 1 of the dogs returned.  Saddened to not see the other and curious why he couldn’t remember his own way home we brought him in.  15 min later there was a knock at the door.  Hoping it somehow was the owner, I was amazed to find it was a couple who found the [continue reading »]
