1. Pets can suffer heatstroke, so make sure your pet has access to fresh, clean, cool water at all times.
2. Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest time of the day.
3. Check the temperature of the concrete before walking your pet. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for him. Their pads are not protection.
4. Apply monthly parasite protection.
5. Avoid extreme temperatures and never leave your pet in a hot automobile for any amount of time.
6. Do not chain your dog. Dogs can strangle themselves or get the chain wrapped around a tree and restrict their movement and access to food or water.
