Finding home for our nation's pets

Debbie Schallan

National Shelter Outreach Manager

Debbie brings to PETS 911 over 25 years experience in hotel management, project management and training. She has always had a special love for animals and being a member of the PETS 911 team has helped to fulfill the dream of using her skills and experience to positively impact animal’s lives.

Always a dog lover, Debbie has been a volunteer dog walker for rescue organizations and has fostered several dogs. She currently shares her home with Niko who is a talented and skilled ball player, and novice gardener. Debbie states “Niko is the best teacher I have ever had”.

He has taught her:

  1. There is no need for an opposable thumb if one has a long nose and great resolve.
  2. If you just run by fast enough and don’t look left or right, nobody will really notice that you just snatched the garden gloves.
  3. Respect between a dog and his human must be a two way street.
